We are all guilty, life is a timeline that will soon end for all of us. In short, God wants to know us individually in truth. He who is invisible sent His Son Jesus Christ as a man, so that we would know what God is like. And so that God could pay the penalty for our sins so that we would not have to. That is what the cross was all about.
What does He want from us?
1) To accept the truth of our sins: we have and do sin.
2) To acknowledge that He came here and made a way back to Himself through Jesus dying and being raised from the dead for our sins.
3) To embrace what He did for us as the only way, His Way, with full trust in that alone to save us.
What do we gain?
1) Forgiveness of sins
2) Permanent relationship with God from that point on.
3) Intimate fellowship with God through His indwelling Spirit within each of us.
4) Community with other believers in Jesus Christ.
