Kagee born Keven Garrett was the second of three children born to Robert and Virginia Garrett. He grew up in East Texas. He attended Lufkin High School located in Lufkin, Texas. He obtained his nickname from an elementary classmate. It originated from the initials (K.G.) of his first and last name, but he later changed it to Kagee to add uniqueness.

In 1999, Kagee and Fred G. formed the group Hard Hittas which produced a number of underground albums. Kagee and Fred G. performed as a secular group from 1999 to 2005. In 2005, Kagee left the rap industry, to deal with struggles in his personal life and to strengthen his relationship with the Lord. Months later he returned with a renewed and strengthened relationship with the Lord and it reflected through his music. After a number of underground Christian mix tapes, Kagee decided to start his own company to take his music to the next level, thus being Cross Members Entertainment in December 2008.

“Eternity” was the first record (EP), released under Cross Members Entertainment. The “Eternity” EP is very meaningful to Kagee, because it written at a time when he received a vision of the big picture of life. It was very important that it was the first release for him, because he felt that it was a powerful message that everyone should receive.
